John Muir celebrated the natural world through his journeys and writings about wild places. This website introduces those elements of land, nature, people and spirit that meant so much to him, and demonstrates that the natural world has a vital part to play in our lives through stewardship and preservation of ecosystems and natural resources.
The John Muir Trust in Scotland and the Sierrra Club of San Francisco share in celebrating the works and the inspiration of John Muir's life. The photographs within the pages of the John Muir Trust Wild Nature Yearbook have been drawn from photographers with direct experience of encounters from the natural world in which we live. Each image tells its own story, both moving and inspiring and a perfect companion throughout our busy lives, a showcase of nature's works throughout the year.
